Nagaad discusses House of Guurti Chairman on Woman’s Quota |

 Nagaad meet with the head of the Somaliland’s upper house Mr Salebban Mohamoud Adan on 4th of August, 2009. The organization meet to revitalize the movement for a women’s quota and deeply wanted Mr Salebaan’s support in this matter. This historic meeting was attended by Fadumo Jama Ileye the first women to join the upper House. Also in attendance was Miss Kinzi H Kowden Nagaad gender manager, Miss Kaltoun Shiekh Hassan Nagaad new chairperson of Nagaads Board of Directors and Miss Hodan H Elmi Nagaad acting Executive Director.
The agenda focused on how to improve women’s political participation and the group discussed in depth the quota issue. Mr Salebaan was encouraging and expressed his support for the endeavor. He also encouraged further dialogue with the gurti on this issue. |
