 Participants in Gender ForumSustaining peace is the only way that both genders can improve their societal lives; this can only be achieved by the inclusion of gender in peace building. This is one of the endeavours Nagaad Organization aims to promote and implement forums that can lead understanding the role of Gender n peace building.

in January 25th, 2010 Nagaad Umbrella held a Gender Forum on the role of Gender in Peace Sustainability in Borama, the capital city of Awdal region in West of the Country.

The objectives of the forum was to develop dialogue and networking space amongst Somaliland citizens particularly women and youth to contribute constructive nation building. It was also intended to sensitize communities to be alert of interference suspecting incidence that may disturb the prevailing peace.

The Forum discussion attracted around 60 participants, who were mostly Youth, both male and female.  Participants come from different segments of Borama community, especially from the university and high schools students, Civil Society Organizations, Government, Business, household women and others.

Participants pointed out that the Forum gave them an opportunity to interact, share experienced and healthy discussion on issues of peace and how it is related to the life of the people.
