Nagaad Umbrella Organization has organized a three days workshop on Networking, Advocacy and Community Mobilization in Burao, the capital of Togdheer region.

The training workshop was held in Candle light Conference Hall in Burao from 26^th – 28^th December, 2009 and was supported by Novib Oxfam.

42 participants from Networks in Togdheer region, business organizations and regional authorities concerned with women issues took part the workshop to discuss the theme of having strong network, advocacy and community mobilization.

Facilitating a dialogue for women networks and professional associations in Togdheer region was the main cause of the training so that they can share experiences and engage strong networking for the empowerment and development of women.

The workshop was also aimed to equip participant with skills and knowledge of Networking, its benefits and why its formed and who and how its formed. During the three days, participants were also introduced the conceptual framework of advocacy and how to make effective community mobilization.

Ms. Amina Mohamoud Warsame (Amina-Milgo), Executive Director of Nagaad Umbrella, who addressed the participants for the opening day, has pointed out that the workshop has utmost significance. She said; “This workshop is part of ongoing activities intended to promote and the women empowerment in Somaliland.”

Ms. Amina also extended her gratitude and gratefulness to Novib Oxam for their support of the successful implementation of this program.
