Since 2005, Nagaad Network has offered university scholarships to female secondary school graduates from poor families who cannot afford the university fees.
The number sponsored is reviewed annually depending on available resources. This intervention is regarded as a potential approach in which women pioneers and leaders could be produced. The success of this program has been noticeable following the first batch of graduates. Some these graduates have since found employment with public and private sector institutions while others joined political parties. The most prominent example is a graduate girl who ran in the Hargeisa local council elections. Currently, Nagaad has sponsored 79 female students.
