NAGAAD published and presented women’s political participation in Somaliland; opportunities, challenges, and potential solutions. Report while SONSAF launched Resource Center (Hansiyaasi.com) available sources and tools in the platform to empower aspiring women to learn more about political participation.
The event was held at the Casood Hotel in Hargeisa, and was attended by civil society, women’s rights organizations, and intellectuals
The Executive Director of NAGAAD, Nafisa Yusuf Mohamed, deeply explained the content of the women’s political participation in the Somaliland Report, she mentioned that Report’s findings emphasized the challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions.
SONSAF Chairman Anwar Abdirahman Warsame who also spoke at the event said that “SONSAF will hand over the website to NAGAAD”
Hansiyaasi.com contains lectures recorded by members who have experience for the topics. The Somaliland women will find the website for the following topics.
1. Leadership
2. Laws and acts
3. Election campaign
4. The effective ways to use social media.
Hansiyaasi website will be managed by NAGAAD Women’s Umbrella, which has been working for the development of Somaliland women for the last 30 years.
The Director of Somaliland’s good governance and anti-corruption agency Mrs. Fathiya Mohamed Abdirahman mentioned that she agreed with NAGAAD’s Director to change the name of the website.

At the end of the meeting, members from the women’s wing of UCID and Kulmiye and the Director of SONSAF mentioned the importance of the event.
